The Dodge Dart's 2013-2015 halogen high beam and low beam headlights use the 9012 bulb, a single-filament enhanced halogen type rated at 12V and 55W with a PX22d base, built to the ANSI standard used in the US and Canada.
In 2016, the halogen headlight configuration shifted from the 9012 to the 9005 for both high and low beam positions. The 9005 is also a single-filament halogen bulb under the ANSI standard, rated at 12V and 65W, and uses a P20d base rather than the PX22d found on the 9012. These two bulbs are not interchangeable due to their differing base types and wattage ratings.
The D3S is a mercury-free HID xenon discharge bulb rated at 42V and 35W, built to the ECE standard used in Europe and worldwide. It features a PK32d-5 base with an integral ignitor and is designed specifically for projector-type housings. The Dodge Dart with HID headlamps uses the D3S for both high and low beam positions across the 2013-2016 model years.
Because the D3S operates at 42V and requires a projector-type housing, it is not compatible with standard halogen headlamp assemblies. Vehicles equipped with HID headlamps and those equipped with halogen capsule headlamps require entirely different bulbs despite sharing the same model year and beam position.
The 1964-1976 Dart models use the H6024, a 7-inch round sealed beam unit operating at 12V. Sealed beam units integrate the filament, reflector, and lens into a single assembly, meaning the entire unit is replaced rather than an individual bulb.
The 1960-1963 Dart high beam position uses the H5001, a 4-inch square sealed beam unit at 12V, while the low beam position for those same years uses the H5006, a 5.75-inch round sealed beam unit also at 12V. High and low beam positions on these earlier models therefore require different sealed beam units.
All sealed beam types listed across the earlier Dart model years, including the H6024, H5001, and H5006, conform to the ANSI standard used in the US and Canada.
Across the 2013-2016 model years, each year's headlight fitment depends on which headlamp system is installed. A single model year carries two distinct bulb specifications per beam position, one for halogen capsule headlamps and one for HID headlamps, making the installed headlamp type a necessary factor in determining the correct replacement bulb.
