• The 9003 bulb is the most widely specified type across the Volkswagen Beetle's headlight history, covering both high and low beam positions for the 2012-2019 model years with halogen capsule headlamps. It is a dual-filament ANSI-standard halogen bulb rated at 12V with a 60W high beam filament and a 55W low beam filament, fitted with a P43t base, making it one of the few bulb types capable of serving both beam functions within a single unit.
• The H1 bulb appears across both high and low beam positions for the 1998-2002 model years and as one of two options for 2003-2005 halogen capsule headlamp configurations. It is a single-filament ECE-standard halogen bulb with a P14.5s base, rated at 12V and 55W. Because it carries only one filament, separate bulbs are required for high and low beam functions when this type is used.
• The H6024 is a 7-inch round sealed beam unit conforming to ANSI standards and is specified for the Volkswagen Beetle from 1967-1979. Unlike capsule-type bulbs, the H6024 is not a replaceable internal component; the entire headlamp assembly is the unit itself and is replaced as a whole when it fails.
