The SRT Viper uses D3S bulb size for both high beam and low beam headlight applications. The replacement chart covers 2013 to 2014 model years with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
ECE standard (Europe & worldwide). Mercury-free HID (xenon) discharge bulb with PK32d-5 base and integral ignitor, for projector-type housings. 42V, 35W.
The D3S is a high-intensity discharge (HID) xenon bulb operating at 42 volts and 35 watts. Unlike older HID types, it incorporates an integral ignitor directly into the bulb body, meaning the ignitor and bulb are replaced as a single unit rather than separately.
The D3S follows the ECE standard, which is a Europe-based international regulation governing automotive lighting. Its mercury-free construction distinguishes it from earlier HID types such as the D2S, which contained mercury and required specialized disposal.
The PK32d-5 base is specific to the D3S family and is not interchangeable with other HID base types such as the PK32d-2 used by D2S bulbs. Substituting a different base type would result in an incompatible physical fit.
The D3S is designed exclusively for projector-type housings. Installing it in a reflector housing would produce improper light distribution, as the optical geometry of a reflector housing is not matched to this bulb type.
The SRT Viper uses the D3S for both the high beam and low beam headlight positions for the 2013-2014 model years. A single bulb type serving both functions is characteristic of bi-xenon projector systems, where the same bulb operates in a housing that mechanically or optically switches between beam patterns.
