Saturn SC2 high beam headlight bulbs use 9005 or H4666 size, while low beam headlight bulbs use 9006XS, 9006, or H4666 size. The replacement chart covers 1993 to 2002 vehicle production years with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The Saturn SC2 uses three distinct headlight bulb types across its 1993-2002 production span: the H4666 sealed beam unit, the 9005 halogen bulb, and two variants of the 9006 halogen bulb.
The H4666 is a rectangular sealed beam unit rated at 12V. Unlike the other bulb types in these specifications, it is not a replaceable bulb; the entire unit is substituted when the light fails. The Saturn SC2 (1993-1996) uses this type for both high and low beam positions.
The 9005 is a single-filament halogen bulb with a P20d base, rated at 12V and 65W under the ANSI standard. It serves as the high beam bulb for the 1997-2002 model years.
The 9006 is a single-filament halogen bulb with a P22d base, rated at 12V and 55W. It fills the low beam position for the 1997-2000 model years.
The 9006XS shares the same 12V, 55W rating as the 9006 but features a straight 180-degree base rather than the P22d base. The SC2 (2001-2002) uses this variant specifically for the low beam position.
The 9006 and 9006XS are not interchangeable despite sharing identical voltage and wattage ratings. Their base configurations differ, and substituting one for the other in a housing designed for the other type is not supported by these specifications.
The 9005 high beam and the 9006 or 9006XS low beam are separate, dedicated single-filament bulbs. Neither handles both beam functions, which distinguishes them from dual-filament bulb types used in some other applications.
All bulb types listed for the Saturn SC2 conform to ANSI standards applicable in the United States and Canada.
