This is a notable fitment distinction compared to earlier model years that used dedicated single-filament bulbs for each beam.
• The 9003 bulb, specified for the Mitsubishi Eclipse across both beam positions from 2000-2005, is also a dual-filament halogen type operating at 12V, but it carries a 60W high beam filament and a 55W low beam filament with a P43t base. The 9003 and 9008 are not interchangeable despite both being dual-filament halogen bulbs, as they use different base types.
