Mini Cooper front fog light bulbs utilize H8 and H11 sizes, while rear fog light bulbs use 921 and P21W sizes across the model line. The replacement chart covers vehicle production years from 2002 to 2024 with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The Mini Cooper front fog light uses the H8 bulb across 2007-2024, making it the most consistently specified front fog light bulb in these specifications. The H8 is a single-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V and 35W, built to the ECE standard used in Europe and worldwide, and also approved for use in the United States. It uses a PGJ19-1 base.
For the 2002-2006 Mini Cooper, the front fog light uses the H11 bulb instead of the H8. The H11 is also a single-filament halogen bulb operating at 12V but draws 55W, which is notably higher than the H8. It uses a PGJ19-2 base. Although both the H8 and H11 share a similar physical form, their bases are not interchangeable due to the different PGJ19-1 and PGJ19-2 base designations.
The rear fog light on the Mini Cooper uses two distinct bulb types across its model year range. The 921 wedge bulb (T15) is specified for 2014-2024, while the P21W is specified for 2002-2013.
The 921 bulb follows the ANSI standard used in the United States and Canada. It is a wedge-type bulb rated at 12V and 16W, which is considerably lower in wattage than the P21W it replaced in the rear fog light position starting with the 2014 model year.
The P21W is an ECE-standard single-filament signalling bulb rated at 12V and 21W. It uses a BA15s bayonet base, which is a physically distinct mounting type from the wedge-style 921. The two bulbs are not interchangeable.
From 2015 onward, the front fog light H8 specification includes a "without LED fog lights" qualifier for the Mini Cooper. This indicates that vehicles equipped with factory LED fog lights do not use a replaceable H8 bulb in that position.
