The Jeep Renegade high beam and low beam headlight bulbs utilize a 9008 or D5S bulb size across the model line. The replacement chart covers vehicle production years spanning 2015 to 2023 with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The 9008 bulb is the most widely specified type across the Jeep Renegade headlight fitment data, appearing in both high beam and low beam positions for the 2015-2016 and 2021-2023 model years, as well as in halogen-equipped variants of the 2017-2020 model years.
The 9008 is a dual-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V with a 65W high beam filament and a 55W low beam filament, built to the ANSI standard used in the United States and Canada, and fitted with a P26t base.
Because the 9008 carries both filaments within a single bulb, it serves both the high beam and low beam functions simultaneously, which is why the same part number is listed under both sub-parts throughout the specifications.
The D5S is an HID (high-intensity discharge) xenon bulb rated at 12V and 25W, built to the ECE standard used in Europe and worldwide, and fitted with a PK32d-7 base. Its low-voltage compact design distinguishes it from higher-wattage HID types.
For the 2017-2020 Jeep Renegade, two distinct headlight systems were offered: halogen capsule headlamps using the 9008 and HID headlamps using the D5S. The correct bulb type depends entirely on which headlamp system is installed on the vehicle.
The 9008 and D5S are not interchangeable. They use different base types, different operating technologies, and different electrical standards, meaning a halogen housing and an HID housing require entirely separate replacement bulbs.
The D5S uses a PK32d-7 base, which is specific to certain low-voltage compact HID applications and is not a universal HID base, further limiting cross-compatibility with other xenon bulb types.
From 2021 onward, the specifications list only the 9008 for both beam positions, with no HID variant noted for those model years.
