The Hyundai Equus high beam headlight uses an H7 bulb size while the low beam headlight requires a D1S bulb size. The replacement chart covers 2011 to 2016 vehicle production years with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The Hyundai Equus uses the H7 bulb for the high beam headlight across all model years from 2011-2016. The H7 is a single-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V and 55W, built to the ECE standard recognized in Europe, the US, Japan, and worldwide markets. It uses a PX26d base.
The low beam headlight on the Hyundai Equus is fitted with the D1S bulb across all model years from 2011-2016. The D1S is an HID (high-intensity discharge) xenon bulb rated at 85V and 35W, operating at a significantly higher voltage than the halogen H7 used in the high beam position.
The D1S bulb incorporates an integral ignitor, which is a built-in component required to initiate the high-voltage arc that produces the xenon discharge. This distinguishes it from D2S and similar HID types, which require a separate external ignitor.
The D1S is designed specifically for projector-type housings. It uses a PK32d-2 base, which is not interchangeable with the PX26d base of the H7, and the two bulb types serve entirely different electrical and optical functions within the headlight assembly.
Because the Equus uses two distinct bulb technologies in its headlight system, halogen for high beam and HID xenon for low beam, replacement bulbs for each position require separate sourcing and are not substitutable for one another.
