• The 9012 bulb is among the most frequently specified types across the Ford Taurus headlight data, covering both high and low beam positions for the 2013-2019 model years when equipped with halogen capsule headlamps. It is a single-filament enhanced halogen bulb rated at 12V and 55W, built to the ANSI standard used in the US and Canada, and fitted with a PX22d base.
• The D3S bulb appears alongside halogen options throughout the 2010-2019 model years for both beam positions, serving vehicles equipped with HID headlamps. It is a mercury-free xenon discharge bulb rated at 42V and 35W, built to the ECE standard, and designed exclusively for projector-type housings. Its PK32d-5 base incorporates an integral ignitor, which is a built-in component that initiates the high-voltage arc required to strike the xenon discharge.
• The Ford Taurus (2010-2019) required two distinct bulb types depending on headlamp system. Halogen capsule headlamp trims used either the 9005 or 9012, while HID headlamp trims used the D3S. These types are not interchangeable, as they differ in base design, operating voltage, and housing compatibility.
• The 9007 is a dual-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V with separate wattage ratings of 65W for high beam and 55W for low beam.
