• The 9007 bulb is a dual-filament halogen type with a PX29t base, rated at 12V with 65W for high beam and 55W for low beam. Like the 9008, it handles both beam functions in one unit. The F-150 used the 9007 for both high and low beam positions from 1992-1998.
• The 2013-2014 Ford F-150 offered two distinct headlamp systems that are not interchangeable. Halogen Capsule Headlamp trims used the 9008 bulb, while HID Headlamp trims used the D3S, a mercury-free xenon discharge bulb operating at 42V and 35W with an integral ignitor designed specifically for projector-type housings.
• The D3S bulb operates on high-voltage discharge technology rather than a heated filament, which makes it fundamentally incompatible with standard halogen sockets. Its PK32d-5 base and built-in ignitor are specific to HID projector housings, meaning it cannot be substituted with any of the halogen types listed in these specifications.
