Ferrari FF high beam and low beam headlight bulbs both utilize D1S size bulbs for optimal illumination. The replacement chart covers 2012 to 2016 model years with corresponding bulb specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The D1S is a high-intensity discharge bulb, commonly referred to as a xenon or HID bulb, operating at 85 volts and 35 watts. Unlike halogen bulbs, it produces light through an electrical arc between two tungsten electrodes within a xenon gas-filled quartz capsule.
The D1S type includes an integral ignitor built directly into the bulb unit. This design means the ignitor and bulb are replaced together as a single component, distinguishing it from D2S and D4S types, which require a separate external ignitor.
The D1S uses a PK32d-2 base, which is a specific keyed connector format. This base type is not interchangeable with other HID base standards such as PK32d-3, used by the D3S, even though the wattage and voltage ratings may be similar.
The D1S bulb is designed exclusively for projector-type headlight housings. Use in reflector-type housings produces incorrect light distribution and is not a supported fitment.
The D1S carries ECE certification, indicating compliance with European and internationally recognized lighting regulations. This standard governs light output, color temperature, and beam pattern requirements.
The Ferrari FF (2012-2016) uses the D1S for both the high beam and low beam headlight positions. Both functions are served by the same bulb type within the projector housing system.
