Eagle Talon high beam headlight bulbs measure 9005 or H4666 in size, while low beam headlight bulbs measure 9006 or H4666 in size. The replacement chart covers vehicle production years spanning 1990 to 1998 with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The Eagle Talon uses the H4666 for both high beam and low beam headlight positions in the 1990-1991 model years. This designation refers to a rectangular sealed beam unit, meaning the lens, reflector, and filament are fused into a single assembly that is replaced as a whole rather than accepting a separate replaceable bulb.
From 1992-1998, the Talon transitioned to a composite headlight system using separate bulbs for each beam function: the 9005 for high beam and the 9006 for low beam. This arrangement allows individual bulb replacement without disturbing the housing.
The 9005 is a single-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V and 65W, operating on a P20d base. It is standardized under ANSI specifications applicable in the United States and Canada.
The 9006 is also a single-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V but draws 55W, which is 10 watts less than the 9005. It uses a P22d base, which is physically distinct from the P20d base of the 9005, making the two bulbs non-interchangeable despite their similar appearance.
Because the 9005 and 9006 use different base types, P20d and P22d respectively, substituting one for the other in the 1992-1998 Talon is not a compatible fitment without modification.
The H4666 sealed beam unit used in 1990-1991 operates at 12V and does not carry a wattage rating in the specifications. As a sealed beam, its light output characteristics are fixed by the unit itself rather than by a separately rated bulb.
All three bulb types listed across the Talon's headlight specifications, the 9005, 9006, and H4666, conform to ANSI standards recognized in both the United States and Canada.
