Ducati Monster Diesel headlight bulbs utilize H1 size for high beam and H7 size for low beam applications. The replacement chart covers 2012 to 2013 production years with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The H1 bulb is a single-filament halogen type operating at 55 watts with a P14.5s base, meaning it uses a single pin for socket contact. It is designated for high beam headlight duty on the Ducati Monster Diesel for the 2012-2013 model years.
The H7 bulb is also a single-filament halogen type rated at 55 watts but uses a PX26d base, which features two pins positioned opposite each other. It serves the low beam headlight position on the same 2012-2013 model years.
Although both H1 and H7 bulbs share the same 55-watt rating and halogen construction, their bases are physically incompatible with each other. The H1 and H7 are not interchangeable despite their similar power draw.
The H7 base design positions the filament at a specific focal point calibrated for low beam reflector housings. Installing an H1 in an H7 socket is not possible without modification, and doing so would produce incorrect light projection.
Both bulb types operate on a 12-volt electrical system, which is standard for motorcycle applications of this type.
The consistent use of H1 for high beam and H7 for low beam across both the 2012 and 2013 model years indicates that the headlight housing design remained unchanged between those two years.
