The Dodge Monaco uses three distinct sealed beam unit types across its earlier model years: the H5001 (4-inch square), the H5006 (5.75-inch round), and the H4651/H4652 (4x6-inch rectangular). All are ANSI-standardized sealed beam units operating at 12V, meaning the entire housing is replaced rather than an individual bulb.
The H5001 high beam and H5006 low beam sealed beam units were fitted to the Monaco from 1965-1976. These two units differ in physical form, so they are not interchangeable with each other despite sharing the same voltage rating and sealed beam construction.
For 1977-1978, the Monaco transitioned to rectangular 4x6-inch sealed beam units, with the H4651 designated for high beam and the H4652 for low beam. The H4652 is a variant of the H4651, and the two serve different beam functions, making them non-interchangeable between positions.
The 1990-1992 Monaco uses replaceable halogen bulbs rather than sealed beam units. The 9005 handles the high beam function and the 9006 handles the low beam function, both operating at 12V but differing in wattage: 65W for the 9005 and 55W for the 9006.
