• The Dodge Durango uses two distinct headlight technologies across its model years: halogen capsule and HID (high-intensity discharge) xenon systems. From 2011-2020, both options were available depending on the trim or factory-installed headlamp package, while earlier model years used halogen exclusively.
• The 9005 bulb is the most frequently specified halogen type in these specifications, appearing in both high beam and low beam positions for the 2016-2020 Durango with halogen capsule headlamps, as well as in the high beam position for 2011-2013. It is a single-filament ANSI-standard bulb rated at 12V and 65W with a P20d base.
• The D3S is the HID bulb specified for both high and low beam positions on the 2014-2020 Durango with HID headlamps. It operates at 42V and 35W, incorporates an integral ignitor, and is designed exclusively for projector-type housings. It is mercury-free and follows the ECE standard used in Europe and worldwide.
• The 9012 bulb is specified for both high and low beam positions on the 2014-2015 Durango with halogen capsule headlamps. Although it shares the same 12V operating voltage as the 9005, it draws only 55W and uses a PX22d base, making it physically and electrically incompatible with 9005 sockets despite its similar appearance.

• The 1998-2003 Durango uses the 9007, also a dual-filament halogen bulb rated at 12V with a 65W/55W output split. While the 9007 and 9008 share the same wattage ratings, they use different base types, PX29t and P26t respectively, and are not interchangeable with each other.
