The Can-Am Outlander Max uses high beam headlight bulbs in 9005 and HS1 sizes, while low beam headlight bulbs measure H11 and HS1 in size. The replacement chart covers 2007 through 2019 production years with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The Can-Am Outlander Max uses three distinct bulb types across its headlight positions: the 9005, HS1, and H11. Each carries a different base type and wattage rating, making them physically and electrically incompatible with one another.
The HS1 is the only dual-filament bulb among the three. It operates at 35W on both filaments and uses a PX43t base, which is a motorcycle-specific fitting. The 9005 and H11 are both single-filament designs with separate base configurations.
The 2007-2012 Outlander Max used the HS1 bulb for both the high beam and low beam positions. Because the HS1 is a dual-filament type, a single bulb served both lighting functions in those model years.
From 2013-2019, the high beam and low beam positions were separated into two distinct bulb types. The 9005 handled the high beam, while the H11 handled the low beam, each requiring its own socket and fitting.
The 9005 operates at 65W and follows the ANSI standard used in the United States and Canada. It uses a P20d base and is not interchangeable with the H11, which uses a PGJ19-2 base and runs at 55W under the ECE standard.
The HS1 follows the ECE standard, which governs lighting regulations across Europe and much of the world. Its PX43t base is specific to motorcycle and powersports applications and is not shared by any passenger vehicle halogen standard.
All three bulb types operate on a 12V electrical system, which is consistent across the full 2007-2019 model range of the Outlander Max.
The H11 holds approval under both ECE and US regulations, distinguishing it from the 9005, which is limited to the ANSI standard used in North America.
