BMW Motorcycle K1200R Sport headlight bulbs use H7 size for both high and low beam functions. The replacement chart covers 2007 to 2008 model years with corresponding bulb specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The H7 is a single-filament halogen bulb operating at 12 volts and 55 watts, fitted with a PX26d base. Single-filament construction means the bulb serves one lighting function only, which is why separate H7 units are used for both the high beam and low beam positions on the BMW Motorcycle K1200R Sport.
The H7 bulb follows the ECE standard, a regulatory framework recognized across Europe and much of the world. It also carries approval for use in the United States and Japan, giving it broad international compliance.
The PX26d base is a keyed, push-and-twist fitting. Its design allows only a correctly oriented bulb to seat properly, which prevents incorrect installation in the headlight housing.
Both the high beam and low beam headlight positions on the K1200R Sport use the H7 bulb for the 2007-2008 model years. While the same bulb type fills both positions, the two sockets remain separate and non-interchangeable within the housing.
Because both beam positions share the same bulb type, a single H7 replacement unit is physically compatible with either socket. However, the positions are distinct circuits and should not be treated as functionally equivalent when servicing the lighting system.
