Blue Bird Vision School Bus high and low beam headlight bulbs use 9007 and 9005 sizes. The replacement chart covers 2010 to 2017 production years with bulb specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The 9007 bulb is a dual-filament type, meaning a single bulb serves both high beam and low beam functions. The 2017 Blue Bird Vision School Bus uses this bulb in both headlight positions, so one bulb type handles the full headlight system.
The 9005 bulb is a single-filament type designed for high-intensity output in one beam mode only. Its use in both the high beam and low beam positions on the 2010 model indicates that two separate single-filament bulbs are used rather than one dual-filament unit.
The 9007 and 9005 bulbs share a similar physical base family but are not interchangeable. The 9007 has a dual-filament configuration with a different pin arrangement than the 9005, and substituting one for the other risks improper fitment or incorrect beam function.
Both bulb types operate at 12 volts and fall within the standard halogen category, using a tungsten filament enclosed in a halogen gas-filled quartz envelope to produce light.
The 9005 bulb is rated at 65 watts and is associated with higher luminous output in a single-filament design, while the 9007 operates at 65 watts on high beam and 55 watts on low beam through its two filaments.
Because the 2010 model uses the 9005 in both headlight positions, replacement requires attention to the fact that each position takes an identical bulb, whereas the 2017 model requires only the 9007 across both positions.
