The Argo Xplorer uses an HS1 bulb size for high beam headlight applications and an H3 bulb size for low beam headlight applications. The replacement chart covers vehicle production years spanning 2018 to 2019 with corresponding bulb size specifications.
The year-by-year compatibility chart below provides a quick reference to verify the correct bulb size for your vehicle.
The Argo Xplorer uses two distinct bulb types across its headlight system: the HS1 for high beam and the H3 for low beam, both for the 2018-2019 model years.
The HS1 is a dual-filament halogen bulb built to ECE standards, operating at 12V with a 35W/35W output rating and fitted with a PX43t base, a bayonet-style fitting originally developed for motorcycle applications.
The H3 is a single-filament halogen bulb also conforming to ECE standards, rated at 12V and 55W, and uses a PK22s base, which is a single-pin metal cap design.
The higher wattage of the H3 (55W) compared to each filament of the HS1 (35W) reflects the differing output demands placed on low beam versus high beam circuits in this application.
The HS1's PX43t base and the H3's PK22s base are physically incompatible with each other, meaning the two bulb types are not interchangeable within the Xplorer's headlight housings.
While the HS1 carries ECE approval for European and worldwide markets, the H3 holds the broader regulatory approval, being additionally certified for use in the United States and Japan.
