The Arctic Cat Crossfire EFI uses two distinct bulb types across its headlight system for the 2007-2009 model years: the 894 for high beam and the 893 for low beam.
Both the 894 and 893 are ANSI-standardized bulb types recognized in the United States and Canada, each operating at 12 volts and 37.5 watts with a single-filament halogen construction.
Although the 894 and 893 share identical voltage and wattage ratings, they are not interchangeable. The 894 uses a PGJ13 base while the 893 uses a PGJ19 base, making the two physically incompatible with each other's sockets.
The PGJ13 and PGJ19 designations refer to prefocus bayonet-style bases, where the number indicates the nominal base width in millimeters. The difference in base sizing is the primary factor preventing cross-fitment between the high and low beam positions.
Single-filament construction in both bulb types means each serves only one lighting function, which is consistent with the Crossfire EFI using separate bulbs for high and low beam rather than a dual-filament solution in a single housing.
